Arc Terms
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These Arc Terms apply to every Arc plan and project, in addition to the Terms of Service and the Refund & Cancellation Policy. You accept them before you start a free project or pay for one.
1. Plans
Arc has a free plan for simple questionnaires, a one-time payment per project, and a Professional option priced for each customer. Each project credit is for building one report.
2. Report language
Each Arc project produces one report in one language; there is no second-language option. The default language is English. You may choose another language when you order. In that case Arc shows you a message before you continue: Arc writes your report in your chosen language with the help of AI, with the same analyses, charts and design as the English version; Arc writes most fluently and precisely in English, so in other languages the wording may not read quite as smoothly in places, but numbers and findings are identical in every language. By pressing Continue, you accept this.
3. Your files
You upload the raw data and the questionnaire and, if you wish, a proposal, cleaning instructions, a codebook and a report brief. You are responsible for these files being correct and complete and for having the right to use them.
4. Data lock
Once you approve the tables, the data is locked so that the report is built on fixed data. You may unlock it yourself once to replace the data, provided Arc confirms that the new data belongs to the same questionnaire (the same questions, variables and structure). If the new data does not match the questionnaire, or the one self-service unlock has been used, Arc will not allow it and you need to ask support.
5. Support review and unlock fee
For a further unlock, support checks that the data really belongs to the same questionnaire, topic and project, so that a single credit is not used for a new project. Support explains its decision, and the decision is final. The first unlock approved by support is free. Each one after that costs US$50, which you pay first; only then does Arc allow the unlock. After each unlock, once the data has been checked again and output has started, the data is locked again, and the next unlock again requires this fee.
6. Changes to the report
Asking for changes to the report is free, as long as the report is built from the same project's data and the change adds no extra cost for Survantis. You may also upload your own edited version. If support has allowed an unlock and new data, the report can change to follow the new data. A request that needs other data or adds cost goes to support for review, and support's decision is final.
7. Data files you receive
Three data files (numeric codes, labelled values, and SPSS) are delivered without open-ended answers and without columns of personal information.
8. Arc assistant
The question-and-answer assistant allows 20 questions a day on the Standard plan and 40 on Professional, and stays open for 5 business days for each project.
9. AI and your approval
Arc works independently of Survantis researchers. Cleaning, coding and the report text are produced with the help of AI, and your researcher can edit them. At every step Arc asks your researcher to approve the result before moving on, and approving each step is your responsibility.
10. Refunds
A project credit that has been used is not refunded. An unused project credit can be refunded within 10 business days of purchase.
